Wildfire Resilient Landscapes
At Hawaiʻi Wildfire Management Organization (HWMO), we believe that collaboration across jurisdictions and landownerships is essential to create wildfire-resilient landscapes. We emphasize the importance of wildfire-focused training, using the best available science, and comprehensive mitigation planning and practices.
To support these priorities, we host and facilitate regional and sector-based coordination and action groups, co-lead the Pacific Fire Exchange science communication project with our partners at the University of Hawaiʻi, and offer mitigation planning assistance, training sessions, and fee-for-service mitigation plans.
This webpage provides access to our most requested resources, and we encourage you to contact us if you need further information.
HWMO co-leads the Pacific Fire Exchange (PFX) Project, a fire science communication program, with partners at the University of Hawaiʻi. The project is advised by a steering committee of researchers and fire and forestry practitioners across Hawaiʻi and US-Affiliated Pacific Islands. Many of the informational resources used in HWMO's Wildfire Resilient Landscapes Program were developed within this partnership.

Our partners have developed and maintain other websites and resources. These are important for ensuring Wildfire Resilient Landscapes, through practices like monitoring real-time conditions. We have provided those links here to support and encourage regular use of those resources.
